What’s in the Ashram’s name …
Vishwa means “Universal”, Shanti means “Peace”, and Gurukul means “Spiritual Teacher and Disciple coming together to uplift to higher consciousness”. Ashram means “A Continued Work” for the physical, emotional, mental, psychological and spiritual development.
The Vishwa Shanti Gurukul Ashram is a place where master and disciple learn the practical knowledge of bringing harmony, peace, joy and happiness to everyone’s lives. In short, to be better citizens of the world, contributing to world peace.
What we are not … At the ashram, we do not uphold any kind of religion, dogma, sect or human attachments.
What should people bring … Motivation!!! Love, compassion, harmony, and Universal brotherhood.
As responsible members of the Universe, we are all one. Just like drops of water in the vast ocean, the disciple and the teacher are part of everything.
What our visitors achieve at the ashram … Is that they acquire the understanding, and hopefully incorporate it as wisdom, of getting out of the usual limited thinking, which makes us believe that we are individuals, independent of the rest of our reality.
To become Universal cosmic higher beings that are and belong to the Universe, leaving with an expanded higher consciousness.
How can the visitors achieve this higher understanding? In our regular stressful lives, we are tied up to our achievements or lack of them. Expectations grow higher and higher in this competitive world. We hear and see a lot of information. So much so, that after a certain point, we gradually give more preponderance to the external information than to our inner understanding and first-hand contact with the Universe that surrounds us.
As we become too dependent on the external senses, we lose personal confidence and will power, courage and inner tranquility.
At the ashram, the teacher will help the disciples silence the outside voices and stimuli to regain connection to the Universe surrounding us.
Using the force of opposites to find inner peace and equilibrium
Suffering means lack of knowledge and proper understanding about situations and circumstances.
Pleasure means knowledge and wisdom, so that suffering is diminished in relationships and situations.
Then by harmonizing pleasure and pain, we experience a blissful and joyful state.
Without any experience of external sensorial experiences, every person is in the ocean of joy and bliss.
In time, disciples should strive to become like their teachers, independent of happiness or unhappiness and external senses. |
